Fraxel™ re:store Dual creates thousands of microthermal zones of controlled, mild injury in the skin, penetrating deep into the dermal layer while leaving the skin’s surface intact. Unwanted pigment is removed and uneven texture of the skin is improved while new collagen is formed. The treatment can be tailored to your needs by varying the wave length, energy and treatment level. The results are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3-6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal and create more collagen.
Most patients describe the treatment as having a hot “prickling” sensation as the laser handpiece glides over the skin. Following the Fraxel™ session, you may feel as if you were out in the sun for too long, but this will often resolve one to three hours post-procedure.
60 minutes topical anesthetic time, followed by 30 minutes average treatment time for full face.
The intensity and duration of the effects depend on the wavelength and the level of treatment, along with your particular healing characteristics. Patients report various degrees of swelling and redness following each session. During the following week, some redness will persist, perhaps becoming more bronze in color, along with flaking of surface skin and brown spots.
A minimum of 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. However, scars generally benefit from more sessions. Maintenance with Clear + Brilliant™ treatments is recommended, or in some cases a future repeat Fraxel™ Dual Treatment.
